The increasing need for biogas systems

One of the biggest challenges to waste management industries is how to deal with the biogas that is produced from the anaerobic digestion of organic waste materials.

Methane is a greenhouse gas that is 21 times more potent than carbon dioxide. Therefore, the high level of methane consistently produced poses an environmental issue. Often, to get rid of the gas, it is flared or released directly into the atmosphere.

Waste management industries are also challenged by the high energy demand of waste processing technologies, including power and heat for processing equipment plus heating and cooling for facilities.
